King of Shaves was founded
by Will King in 1993 as a shaving
preparations manufacturer. It was
originally based in Ruislip, Middlesex,
and is currently the number two to
Gillette by sales value in the UK
shaving preparations market. Current
headquarters are in Chesham, Buckinghamshire.

Its first product
was the 'King of Shaves' Original
Shaving Oil, and in 1996, it launched
the first non-aerosol aloe-based
shaving gels as well as the first
mass men's skincare range. In 2003,
the company introduced a range of
men's 'cosmetic' skincare products
and in 2004, launched the first
magnetized shaving gel.
It also manufactures and markets
fragrances and toiletry products
under license from Ted Baker PLC
and hairstyling products under license
from Fish Hairdressing, Soho.
